No trips because I just spent a bunch on my Spirit trip a few weeks ago and have to pay the piper before Carnival sees any more money from me. Just curious, I noticed some people are booking for trips 7-9 months away. Why? They should wait until 5 months prior to get the best possible deal on the early booking feature. Its a hassle to fill out refund forms for OBC if your pricing goes down after booking. I cant imagine the ship would sell out 8 months in advance anyway. I know its easy to get caught up in the moment but slow down. Just my way of thinking for what its worth.

I did the same itinerary last year on the Destiny that Victory is now doing. Absolutely loved it. I think it has been my favorite cruise so far, because it was a different port each day. I'd like to do it again soon. So far I've got the Splendor booked for May.

I typically agree with that. Kuki or Paul I can't remember which, wrote about Early Vs. Late booking in a recent blog. There are pros and cons to both.
Sorry you can't cruise for a while. Did you enjoy the Spirit?

July 5th 7 days on the Legend out of Tampa. We did the Destiny out of San Juan last August. We called it our power cruise. We stayed 3 extra days in San Juan after the cruise. Best vacation ever.
Agree, the best way to see the world is via cruise. Where else can you get a room, all meals, maid service, room service, sun, sand and an ocean breeze for such a reasonable price
Safe travels to all.

Carnival Splendor, May 31st, 7 day for the Mexican Riviera! Our first cruise and will be our Honeymoon! I am so excited and am already thinking of next year's cruise! I will wait though, couple months ahead of time is good time to book, I got a great rate with a military disocunt to boot! heaper than a hotel!
Booked the Carnival Freedom for Feb 27, 2010,,,I know that's along way off,,,,but will be watching for better pricing,,,,It's a great cruise with lot's of ports,,,and Nancy got us a great price already,,,
Valor Western Caribbean, April 26 , Grand Cayman, Roatan, Belize, Cozumel. Roatan the only port that I haven't been to. The rest of the group (17 in all) wanted this itinerary.
Looking at the Fascination in Aug. or possibly NCL Magesty in Aug. "A bad day at sea beats a good day at work! "

I did that same cruise last year on the Destiny. Hope you love ports of call ! It can be tiring and at times one island runs into another causing confusion.
"Did I purchase the Banana sauce in Barbados or Dominica?"
"Where WAS that lovely waterfall?"
"I forgot...which island had the great shopping? "
"Was it St Lucia, St Kitts, or St Thomas that our tour guide showed us a wild monkey?"
"which place was the fort ?"
"Oh never mind, they are all the same !"
Seriously though, I found the Southern Caribbean to be the best Caribbean itinerary. I found the islands themselves to be far prettier and with more history, more culture than the Western or most Eastern itinerary ports. Just my opinion !
Personally I found Antigua and St Kitts to be the best of the lot. Antigua is different...make that unique. Semi-arid with simply lovely beaches ( 365 one for every day of the year) and English Harbour where Lord Nelson was once posted.
St Kitts offered what I judged to be the friendliest locals + Brimstone Hill Fortress which dates from the 1600's.

My next one is in April on the Holiday for my 45th birthday. The merits of that ship is it's in Mobile which is an easy drive for me. I need not fly anywhere ! 8)
In September, I'll escape the Deep South heat for a much cooler New England & Canada on the Triumph.

Some of us like to have a cruise booked.
If the price goes down, our TA makes sure we get the lower price.
There has been a few times when the price went up, but we were locked in on the lower rate.

Me and the BF and a couple friends are going. This is only our 2nd cruise (last one was in Oct. 2008 on the Inspiration), personally I'd rather party in Vegas but the BF only gets a weeks vacation and wants to go on another cruise so I sided with him. So I'm going to Vegas toward the end of the year with my best friend.

Also, some of us pay our cruise off in monthly increments (just like anty other bill), so the further out we book, the easier it is to pay!
