(This is on the Fascination Ship) Which Would You choose and why? A Category 6a with an Ocean view window that's on the back of the ship for $315.98 a person, Or a Category 5a with two Port Holes that's on the second Deck from the bottom for $295.00 a person?[/b]

I would pick neither and go with a suite because there is a balcony.

Portholes vs windows--a window is bigger....but the question is, what is above/below the cabins...

However, you have to think about what YOU want. The stern of the ship will get the pitching if there is rough seas (u/down motion), where as if you had a cabin on the port/starboard side you would get a roll (left to right). I would worry more about what is above/below the aft cabin as in the ropes/winches when arriving in port. If you are below the deck with the winches/ropes then be prepared for a VERY noisy wake up call when arriving in port. I made a mental note to not have an aft cabin one deck up or down from that area because it is like a cabin above the engine room your HEAR the rumble of the engines getting in/out of port.

I would have to agree that is better than tow portholes.

The window. It allows more light into the cabin. The aft area can be noisy with vibration especially if the captain is trying to make time. I chose cat.6c main deck amid ship for my cruise in Aug. I would much rather have a balcony but was told all suites were taken.

I'd get a inside cabin. Let me tell you- I was on Fascination last year in a 6A with large window and I can count the minutes on one hand how many times I looked out the window. Save your money for something else unless you really want the outside experience then go with a balcony.

Prefer balcony but did an inside to save a few bucks this time.
