We are booked on the Splendor next sept. we booked a Spa Balcony on deck 11. 8)
So far we've only stayed mid-ship balconies. Deck 11 seems really high, how's the ride?
Also I hear alot of talk about Aft balconies... but nothing about forward balconies...
any thoughts?
If the cabin is too far to the front you are going to feel the tossing of the ship. Just depends on how rough the sea is at that time. We have been just a few cabins back from the front and have sailed on the aft end. We liked the aft end much better. These newer ships though are much better than ships just a few years ago.

We are not the front cabins.... (out of the cabins on the spa deck) we are close to the front elevators.
So far we haven't experienced any rough seas.... (thank God).
We did the front cabins, literally, on the Empress deck of the Conquest. Very bumpy.
Thanks for the heads up... we are going to be even higher... I'm generally okay as long as I can peak out once in a while to make the ship is still doing what it's supposed to be doing.... floating on top of the water...
We did the very front balcony on the Spirit on Panorama deck which is high up and didnt feel a thing. The waters were good but never felt a thing anyway. To me it doesnt matter where you are. If the seas are good you wont rock, if they are bad get ready to use the sick bags.

I just got off the Liberty Feb.7-14. My wife and I had a Aft balcony on the empress deck my mother had a front on the same deck. Seas were rough the first couple of nights 10-15 ft. seas. The front had a much rougher ride than the aft. Also noticed on the front you could really hear the ship breaking the waves. Note these were very rought seas though..
personally I sleep great when it is like this. It is like being rocked to sleep. I sure miss it..
Have fun

We just returned from a 6 night on the Freedom.....loved the ship and we were on the spa deck, 1103...loved it, yes it can be a little bumpy but nothing to fret about, we were fine...I find that it is very quiet on that deck, not a lot of cabins and we were very close to the elevators, we also had this same deck our last cruise and would love to have it again. We didn't booked this one we were bumped up. Anyway we had a wonderful time!!!

Thank you for your input, I'm excited and not worried a bit.
I'll be on the panorama deck on Valor in a few short days. I'll let you know how it went when I get back.

Yeah we're on the panorama deck of the Liberty. It's really high.
Our first and only cruise we were on the upper deck of the Inspiration in the 5th room from the FRONT of the boat. I didn't feel anything until the last day because swells in the water were pretty big. No breaking waves, just swells. It gave me a headache but nothing more than that. I stayed out of the room most of the last day because of it.

We were on the same cruise as speedman420, and on the Lido deck, forward. Yes the seas were very rough the first couple days (tried walking outside on the track and the wind forced me to jog even though I didn't want to). But I have to say as someone who has never cruised before I never got sick and slept like a baby! I just always felt like I was drunk all the time walking down the halls, but then everyone else looked the same way!
I didn't care whether it was rocky or not...I was on vacation with no stress (the spa helped) and we finally got a few sunny days so I could come back with a tan!
