I would like to know if the Fantasy has been changed to cruise out of Mobile instead of New Orleans. In my search it seems the Triumph is now sailing out of New Orleans. Is the Triumph the same class of ship as the Fantasy.
The Fantasy will start sailing out of Mobile on November 10.
The Triumph will start sailing out on New Orleans on November 10 also.
The Triumph is not a Fantasy class ship it is a Triumph class ship.
The Fantasy is 70, 367 tons and holds 2,056 passangers.
The Triumph is 101, 509 tons and holds 2, 758 passangers.
So the Triumph is a larger ship and it is also newer.

Thanks for the information. Now I know Fantasy is like the Ecstasy. I will research the Triumph. Trying to plan the next cruise for 2010.
Yes, accept the Fantasy has been all redone. It has the water park, new pool, and adult area. The Ecstasy doesn't have any of that.

I read that Ecstasy is going into drydock this year. Do you know if it will get similar upgrades? I really like her. We have sailed her twice. Galveston is convenient for us, but would consider going to New Orleans to sail the Triumph next year.
I met with a carnival rep yesterday at my T.A.'s office. She said the Ecstasy is scheduled for September to be fitted with the "Evolutions of Fun". Since she was upgraded after playing host to Katrina folks, she is the last of her class to get the big fix. She also said that the Triumph will have four, five and seven day cruises from NOLA. Even doing an Eastern itinerary. Sound good.

The Fascination has not had the upgrade and I have not heard that it's this year. It's a Fantasy class ship.

Thanks for answering.
I'm jumping the gun just a bit, but since your already looking and since you say that Galveston is that convenient you should consider the Cruisemates Conquest group on January 17th. I believe it will be announced in next few days if not today. The pricing is very good especially considering the benefits.
The Ecstasy has already received a lot of the interior upgrades. Did them after Katrina duty. They will only need to add the exterior and a few interior. That's why it was further down the dry dock schedule.
