Default Carnival Triumph and Canada?

I am going to be in NY this coming July for a family visit and while there I was considering taking a 4-night cruise on the Carnival Triumph to Canada.

Has anyone ever taken this cruise or sailed on Triumph?

I have done this very itinerary two years in a row, once in July and once in August. Being from Mass it was an easy drive to get to the port, much nicer than having to fly. It was the Victory both times I did it but I guess they have moved that ship and replaced it with the Triumph. The Victory was quite nice and we enjoyed it both times. It is very different from a Caribbean cruise in that it is not all about sitting out in the sun. There were times when the fog was so thick you couldn't even see 2 feet in front of you. Halifax and St. John are both lovely and the people are very nice. St. John has the Reversing Falls jet boat ride which is a blast.

In a related follow-up question, can anyone advise where the cruise port is in NY? Thanks!

Booked on the 7 day Triumph to New England/Canada for September.
From my understanding the ship leaves from Manhattan. 8)
which is COOL since I have always wished to see it.

Default triumph and newyork

We were to take TRIUMPH from new york a few years ago and it was fleet week, sucked. The people handlig our bags said "' TIP US GOOD OR YOU MAY NEVER SEE YOUR BAGS AGAIN".They were nasty and down right mean they threw bags, dropped bags, cursed out the people. We were directed to their "BOSS". his comment was we are union longshoreman so whats the problem the ship does not control us so Fu-- off and he strolled awaya and laughed. will never again take a cruise out of new york
The people in NORFOK, Orlando , and Miami are great , and curteous
