Yipee! I LOVE when I book a cruise!!! Just booked the Triumph Jan 16-23 out of N.O. to Belize, Cozumel and Honduras. I don't hear much on this ship. Any feedback? We booked on the Panarama deck at the end - as we loved that location before - one step out and in the whirlpool and one deck below spa (I exercise daily) - AND one step away from the seaside theatre. Please tell me they have a seaside theatre on this ship!!! Thanks!
According to Carnival's website, the Triumph does have the Seaside Theater. Went on this ship in 2007, and it was very nice, clean, and friendly crew. Now that it will be here in New Orleans, I will definitely take more cruises on her.

Oh yeah !! Booking a cruise is always one of life's thrilling moments....one of the few things left that an adult can become giddy about.
For the record, I'll be on the Triumph this fall to New England & Canada. I'll certainly provide feedback about open air theaters and what-not.

Just back from the Triumph. I loved this ship! It does have the big screen like the Valor and Liberty does! The entertainment wasn't that great but as you know, it changes all the time.
Any questions? Just ask.

We are going May 25th our of Charleston, SC. We have a cabin on the Lido deck. How was the food/staff/ship?
The lovely Mrs. Jones (Vita) and I just sailed the "Triumph" in Feb, and I have to tell you it was GREAT! Food was truly outstanding, and the service second to none. I personally thought the entertainment was very good, and the only thing I thought needed a change was the Cruise Director. He just didn't seem up to the job, so perhaps that will change before you sail.
As I recall, the cabins did have flat screen T.V. as well as the BIG screen on the Lido deck.
Wish I could join you!
It's great to here the new review of Truimph it's on my spreadsheet of cruises. I will only go on one, but I have 12 on the list with cost analysis of each one. I think I should seek help for my cruise addiction. I'm looking at the Bahamas, I have never been.

It may be to soon to leave May 25th BUT you could do 2 things with one trip. The ship is leaving out of Charleston, SC and if you come over a couple days before you can do some real historic trips thru plantations, carriage rides downtown, walking tours, ghost tours, etc.
The Triumph leaves Monday May 25th, (Memorial Day) and visits both GBI (Freeport) and Nassau/Paradise Island. It returns On Sat. If you can do it come to Charleston on Sat. and spend 2 days before and then leave Sunday after the cruise and have a wonderful time. http://www.charlestoncvb.com/visitors/index.html http://www.carnival.com/Itinerary.as...Date=5/25/2009
I'm so glad to hear positive feedbacks!!! How old is the Triumph? Does anyone know? Who is the Cruise Director at this time. I"m SOOOOOO excited they have the seaside theatre! That is GREAT!!! Looking forward to that cruise ---------- but hitting Alaska in May first!

Do they have the LCD TV's?
No flat screen tv's, still the old style. Food and service on this ship was as good as it get's, never had better! Best room service ever, they were really on their toes. The only dislike was that most of the shows wern't very good and entertainment was lacking as a whole.

Triumph entered service in 1999, but is in EXCELLENT condition. I usually keep Capers from my cruises, but I didn't throw them in the luggage on that cruise, so I can't look up who the cruise director was. Whoever he was, I truly hope he moves before you sail. Not that he was bad, but he just didn't have the enthusiasm that so many do, and frankly, I don't think I saw him more than twice during the entire cruise.
Wow- and a great cruise director makes for a even better cruise! I hope it improves and I hope they get 'new' shows! I have seen so many of the same shows that I'm ready for some new ones!!

Cruise director at this time is Jorge Solano....He is a hoot, you'll love him!
Yep, I think you're right. It was Jorge. Well, you loved the guy, but I thought he was the pitts! As they say in the car business, there's an @ss for every seat. Perhaps he was just having a bad week when I was aboard. I hope so....Anyway, there's a 50/50 chance you'll love him.

I see you are going on the Ruby Princess, when are you sailing? We are on her Dec. 4th on a 10 day southern Caribbean tour.
Really didn't see much of Jorge. He hosted the Marriage game and was funny as #ell.

We are thinking of taking the Triumph out of NO in February 2010, but can anyone tell me if they have volleyball on the top deck? We were docked next to her last week in Cozumel and couldn't really tell.
Thanks
