We've never had a room on the Lido deck but on the only 2 CCL cruises we took it is the deck where the "grazers" live. You'll find like we did that the "grazers" ( those on board to eat 24/7 ) love the lido deck as the restaurants there never close. We last cruised on the Miracle 1/09 and to boot they have a frozen icecream machine on that deck as well. It serves as a perfect babysitter for passengers with children, especially those current and future obese/diabetic kids. On the plus side you won't have to go far to get a drink/beer.
We booked a balcony guarantee on the Victory and ended up with a cabin on Lido. I was nervous at first because we had never been on this deck. I must say I was pleasantly surprised and I would book there again without hesitation. You are right around the corner from the coffee in the morning, snacks are close by, the pool is right there and you are actually able to get chairs in the AM if you wish. It was the first Carnival cruise that I have ever actually had a chair near the pool. No noise issues either, don't be nervous, it's a great location.
I had 9294 on the Lido deck and the only noise heard was on deck party night and it didn't bother me. I was at the deck party, so I was having fun...
9294 is the very last cabin and is about as close to the food and action as you can get. You exit the cabin, take a couple of steps to another door, open that door, and There are the sliding glass doors of Lido!!!!!
I booked 9294 for the Glory for Jan 2010 too...
