Carnival recommends no earlier than 11:30 from MIA.

Checkout Airport Pier Transfers in the links at the bottom of most pages on Carnival's website. It's one that takes a little searching.

We had a blast on Destiny. She was starting to show some age when we cruised, but has had a dry dock and the Evolutions of Fun upgrade since they. We looked at the same cruise, but differnt dates. I think you will have a great time.

I figure I’ll throw my two cents in as well.

I’m not sure where you are flying in “from” but you may want to check out the flight schedules (airlines, arrival times, and departure times) from Fort Lauderdale Airport. The reason I mention this is because sometimes the flight schedules are more convenient (both arrivals and departures) and the fares are less expensive than Miami, besides Miami Airport can be a real hassle getting around. On our last cruise my DW and I did self debarkation and even with the cruise transfer we were at FLL by 9:30 am, but don’t count on it. No matter which airport you choose you can always do the self debarkation and grab a cab. If you get to the airport early you can always try to get an earlier flight.

Always know your options.

Have a pleasant trip.

I will be flying from Atlanta so we have plenty of options in terms of destinations. I will check both airports. I like the idea of having the option of an earlier flight but i don't want to risk missing it. I think i will shoot for a return flight around 1.

Thank you for the input.

Also, realize that that self disembarkation, with 2 large suitcases and 2 carry ons, as we had, the one time we did it, was not as easy as one might think....If you have packed light, and are solo, of course the process is easier.

We had to wait in the theater, and on the Conquest at least, it did not go well there...

With so many air choices for you..leave the ship, leisurely , and let them schlep the baggage for you Have a ball!
