Default San Juan Transfers

We arrive in San Juan at approx 1230ish, and was wondering what time roughly do the transfers from the airport to the pier start? Ship doesn't sail until 10pm and our package states earliest check in 230pm. The company is Rico SunTours that we are transfering with but it was all arranged through Air Canada......after a 5.5 hour flight, we will be anxious to get on the ship and don't want to wait around the airport.

You should be able to board by one pm. You might not be able to enter your cabin right away however.

I don't anticipate any problems for you. I did that 7 day Southern Caribbean from San Juan cruise last . What a great vacation ! The islands are the best, especially St Kitts and Antigua.

The transfer busses should be running by the time you get to SJU, pick up luggage, etc. You can also take a cab to the pier, a bit quicker than finding the bus, loading luggage and waiting for it to fill up...Its very easy and most likely less money. Just something to think about.

Donna......we paid a total of $30 CAN/person for the transfers, would a taxi have been cheaper than $15 CAN one way?

I don't know the cost of the taxi at this time, but if you research prices, remember the cost of the taxi is a total cost, not per person...It may be cheaper, the taxi's also charge for pieces of luggage....

I would tend to agree with Donna. If you are anxious to get aboard ship, like most of us are, your best bet would be to take a cab from SJU airport to the pier. The cost of a cab (for two of us) is about $26.00 including tip. Cabs in San Juan use "zone pricing" which mean prices are fixed going from one zone to another. A cab would be not only quicker but less of a hassel because you don't have to wait around for forty other people and their luggage, God forbid if someone loses a piece of luggage. Just make sure you tell the driver to go to the Old San Juan pier because that's where Carnival docks.
