Default Transportation from Orlando Airport to Port Canaveral

I just booked a cruise leaving out of Port Canaveral. I see that the cruiseline charges $70 r/t per person. There's 3 of us and that would cost me $210 just to get to and from the ship. Is there a cheaper way of going to the port?

Thanks,
Nereida

You can rent a car to drive between Orlando & port Canaveral.

The drive is about an hour and the vehicle will probaby will cost about

80$ dollars each way . If you use Budget they drop you off and pick you up

after the cruise from their office . Some companies don't have this

shuttle service.

Let's see if I'm understanding this. I rent a car at the airport and drive to Port Canaveral, drop off the car at Budget, and take their shuttle bus to the terminal. I disembark, take the shuttle bus to Budget, get a car and drive to the airport.

That sounds feasible. Do you know how far is the rental place from the cruise terminal?

Thanks,
Nereida

The Budget office is about a 10 min drive . You might have to wait about another ten minutes before the shuttle can unload. The wait for pickup might be about 30 min.

Thank you all for your quick responses, but this is getting better than I thought. Now there is a group from my church that is interested in going. If they do decide to go, then we're renting a van and driving down to Orlando from New Jersey. We would be sharing the gas, tolls, and parking at the pier. I was planning on flying and that was going to cost me at least $600.

My husband and I rented a car from the airport ,had it a day ,than drove to the port the next day. The total cost was around $60.00. That included the one way drop off charge. We rented from Thrifty. They are only a few blocks from the port. We took the back roads from orlando and it was only a 45min drive with 2 stops. Much cheapper than taking a taxi or shuttle. Deanna

We rented from enterpprise, and wow was it easy....they picked us up at the airport drove us to the off site location brougt us out to the parking lot asked which car we would like, we drove away in a bright red car.
We drove all around port Canavral on Saturday picking up things and touring, the next day we drove to enterprise about 10 min away from the Raddisson, and they drove us to the port. This cost us $ 32.00 for th car and $ 9.00 for gas.
I can not say enough nice things about enterprise.

There is a bunch of ways to get from Orlando International Airport MCO to Port Canaveral. One of the most comfortable way is to get a private van to pick you right from the airport. There is a recent post about Transportation Costs – Taxi vs. Private Van that could also be interesting to you.
