Default Back From Carnival Liberty - any questions?

I sailed the carnvial liberty out of Miami on 3/7/09 to 3/14/09 - eastern caribbean. We visited San Jaun, St. Thomas, and St. Marteen.

I just wrote a review today, and don't think it's posted yet - but if anyone has any questions about the ship, ports of call, transfers, embarkations/debarkation, or whatever - I'd be happy to respond.

Overall, we had a really great time and spent way too much money!

I HAVE A QUESTION!!!

Are the TV's in the room still tube? Or have they switched them to flat screens?
A friend of mine going with us wanted to know if they could bring a small PS2 or DVD player with them (a small DVD player). I don't know why the DVD player, but the PS 2 is so the guys can have something to do if they get bored.

Also did you eat at Harry's? I booked a reservation there for May 20th and just wanted to know if it was worth the $30/person.

Hi there -

No the TV's are still tube TV'S. We did not eat at Harry's. We had a reservation to eat there towards the end of the cruise, but decided to cancel it so we wouldn't have to spend the money. I did hear it was good though. We just didn't feel like spending $60 when the dining room food was good enough.

Hey SWIFTA, I asked this same thing on another board and someone said YES that the TV's do have the white/yellow/red inputs.
We're bringing a mini PS2 to play games on in our room (just something to do late at night or if we just feel like chillen in the room for a little bit one day).

My friends and I have connecting balcony rooms on the verandah deck. It's going to be the party hut.

Yeah you guys are on the opposite side and up a little.
We're in the back of the boat. LoL It's the only connecting rooms they had left. 8433 and 8437.

Do you know anything about the balcony cabins on the UPPER deck
# 6442,6450,6481 or 6473?

I would like to see actual pictures of how these cabins are set up.

It looks like there are hallways. and the cabins are different.

Thanks
Darlene

Are the times listed on the itinerary for Eastern Caribbean cruises eastern time or atlantic time? I am planning most or all of my excursions independently and need to know what time zone the ship operates on to plan accordingly.

The ship operates on whatever time zone it leaves out of.
For example, we left out of the Eastern time zone from Tampa, went to Cozumel, even though we docked at "8AM" it was actually 7AM there.
But you have to stay on ship time. The ship doesn't change time zones as you travel through them.

It does if you go far enough....

This is a bit annoying. I was planning a dive trip in St. Thomas and was hoping to take the morning dive. Unfortunately, this seems to force me to take the afternoon one since the morning one is at 8:30 AM Atlantic Time(7:30AM Eastern) and it doesn't get into port until 8:00 AM ship time.

I would like to know what to do in San Juan?

We arrive at 5:00pm.

What is there to do and do the shops stay open later?

I have read they close at 8:00pm and then I read someone else say 10:00pm

anyone know for sure

Thank you

Darlene
