Cat 12 Questions

I just booked my hubby and I a post deployment gift of a 5 day cruise on the Fascination. I decided to suprise him with a Cat 12 room, and don't want him to find out until we are leaving (I have lots of other tricks up my sleeve such as limos, and first class air also) as a way to pamper him and make it a romantic trip after being apart for over 6 months. I do have a few questions for those who have booked Cat 12 rooms...

1. Do you get different luggage tags?
2. Do you get VIP check in?
3. Any other perks I should know about?

This will be Carnival cruise #4 for me and #3 for him, I know we don't qualify for alot right now, but I hope the suite will help. lol

I want to know about the tags so that I can hide them when they come lol

Your luggage tags will say VIP on them, I think but I am not 100% sure.

Yes, you do get VIP check-in.

There really arn't any other perks, then you get a bigger room with a big balcony!

Yes, your luggage tags will say VIP on them as will your Funpass.

Just show this to the Carnival Rep when you enter the terminal and they will direct you to VIP Check In.

We enjoyed the whirlpool tub and the extra room.
We were just in a Cat 12 on the Fantasy with hubby, myself and 2 boys. Plenty of room.

We'll I'm not alone. I'm trying to do the same thing and surprise my wife. We have our ninth cruise booked for April 18, 2009 and I've been keeping it a secret since New Years. I handle all the paperwork and TA talk myself, so it's been quite easy so far. The luggage tags and the printed out Fun Pass have VIP in big bold letters on them. I have also been informed that there is a separate check in line at the Terminal for VIP's. You also get to board the vessel prior to the other passengers that are not VIP passengers. I have 16 days to go, hope I can keep the secret until the door opens to our cabin. Rick

Yes on vip tags... VIP embarkation at pier... and the end of the cruise you will get a letter that will tell where to go to get off with VIP status... Not much else but a BIG room and balcony.
We have done both cat11 and cat12.. and on the Fascination I prefer the Cat11.... mainly because it is so high up and only cat11 (there are a few inside cabin) balconies... very private.

I dont get what the VIP luggage tags mean. Do they get on board first? Do they get to skip lines or go to a special VIP luggage party? Maybe they get to see a behind the scenes tour of the luggage room!

RJ--I have a spa suite booked for the Splendor and have already completed my funpass. I can see NOWHERE on my Edocs or Funpass where it says VIP. I looked at the Fun Pass last night and does not say anything other than the usual info. I know someone from the spa will contact me prior to sailing cuz I booked a spa category cabin (suite actually).

I'll have to get my TA to call Carnival and find out why my docs don't say VIP. I paid enough (200% to cruise solo) for the spa suite that It should say it!!!

When we booked a cat 11 our tags said VIP.

Also, doesn't free laundry service come with VIP status or is that just after you get your 10 cruises in.

Not quite that good... just one less dunk in the ocean... lol
Now I am not sure BUT luggage did seem to get to the room faster than when we did not have vip.
