Twice we grabbed a cab and they took us everywhere we wanted to go.
We will be there next week and doing a private all day with Victor bodden, because I wanted to hold his monkeys and take pictures. We are also being taken to a beach and to the ignaunas. Fins and flippers? This is such a beutiful island, so many great choices.
We Visited Roatan for the first time last year on the Valor and had a great time!!! We booked the KAYAK & SNORKEL ADVENTURE that we purchased on the ship.
After an hr of Snorkel they brought us to the Cannibal Cafe nestled in the center of the charming West End for drinks and food.
We the went on a Kayak for over one hr.
The West in was great and the staff and owner Kevin (from Chicago) made it the best excursions we ever booked.
After Kayak back to Kevin's Cafe for $2.00 local Beers

Although Honduras has the feel of an island, it actually isn't. Belize and Guatamala has the same feel. Another thing is they also feel like Caribbean islands. All of Central America feels like the Islands. Same flair, same flavor.
Roatan, Utila, Guanaja and Cayos Cochinos ( known as the Bay Islands ) are a group of Islands belonging to Honduras. Normally when you hear someone referring to Honduras in cruise conversations, they are talking about Roatan. As far as I know there are no cruise ship ports ( as of yet ) on the other islands nor on the mainland of Honduras.
The Bay Islands are known for diving and water sports and do have some dive resorts located about on all of them.
Roatan is not overly developed as of yet but is fast being developed as a major port for cruises --go and enjoy it while you can before it's spoiled by too much development.
