Default Seven Mile Beach Excursion Grand Cayman

Is this worth $29/person through carnival? The only thing it includes in transportation and chair. It being our first cruise and not knowing the area, how hard would it be to get our own transportation for cheaper? What do you guys think?

I don't know if it would be cheaper to take your own taxi or not, but remember, Carnival is making money on this excursion, even at $29/person. Taxi's are available at the pier (Cruise Tender) and at all resorts. Seven Mile Beach is only a few miles out of town, and all beaches on Grand Cayman are public, even at the resort. I plan on taking a taxi to the Ritz, and using their beach (they are at the widest point on Seven Mile Beach) and then taking a taxi back to town for some shopping.

Also, a taxi should be paid for per ride, not per person, it should cost the same whether 1 person or 4 peopel go.

At the pier there are Taxis that will take you to 7 Mile. Many are vans that carry 15/20 people and charge about $6 pp. They are also waiting to take you back for another $6 pp. This is a very easy thing to do. Just make sure to allow lots of extra time for the return. Some time Grand Cayman traffic can take a while.

We walked to 7 mile beach. It took about 15 minutes. We took the bus
back. Cost was $1 I believe. That was in December. Enjoyed the walk,
but my wife got kind of hot, so we took the bus back. The bus dropped
is in the shopping area, not right by the ship. That was like 2 blocks
from the pier.
