The Splendor is just completing it's 2nd 7 Day Mexican Riviera cruise, so it might take a while for someone to reply.

The Capers are daily handouts on board the ship....
Gives you the planned activities for the day....
The activities pretty much stay the same throughout the year so you can use an old set (7 days) of Capers to get a better feeling of the Splendor before you sail....

Im so glad someone asked! I had no idea what a "caper"was either, but was too shy to ask.
Don't be shy about asking anything on the board... everyone is eager to help and many questions aren't as bad as you think...
You should have seen me my first time..
I was on here everyday with a different question...
Over at cruisecritic.com in the carnival board, there is somebody that was on the 4/5 sailing, and has posted pdf's of the capers. I believe the title of the post was review of the Splendor Mexican Riveria 4/5 or something to that effect. The capers were on pages 2 and 3 of the replies.
