Default 2nd cruise, leave in 2 days out of Mobile, Al!

Has anyone cruised out of Mobile lately? I am curious as to the cheapest/easiest way from the airport to the cruiseport. Our plan was to just grab a taxi, but we are unsure the availability of them in Mobile. We are scheduled to arrive in Mobile around 11 a.m. (we are from Michigan)

Our last cruise was out of Ft. Lauderdale and we were able to get there a day early, had a free shuttle through the hotel.

Was initially also worried about the whole swine flu issue, but decided I'm not cancelling until they cancel me!! Only 8 more work hours to go, I am so excited!

Thank you! I really appreciate it! This might seem silly, but do they hang out at the airport looking for "fares", or do they do most business by phone calls? Do you know how much I should expect to spend?

I recently just flew out of mobile and back in and i only saw one cab.. so i think you need to call them first because taxi's arent everywhere here like they are in some places.. and i would just call them and ask how much a fare would be for however many ppl to get to the cruise terminal.

Ainsley that is very good info (I am in Mobile as well). Another point to consider is the distance from the Mobile airport to the cruise terminal. Mapquest shows the distance to be 17 miles and estimated at 23 minutes. The taxi service would probably go straight up Airport Blvd to I-65 then to I-10 to the cruise terminal. I don't believe that Mapquest takes into account that, depending on the day of the week and the time of day, Airport Blvd can be quite slow. It is probably the most traveled thoroughfare in the area. I would bet on it being closer to 35-40 minutes travel time.

I went online to the Mobile Regional airport (http://mobairport.com/TP_shuttle.html) and found a little more info regarding the Airport Shuttle as follows:

Let one of our friendly and highly qualified drivers transport you in spacious, comfortable, safe, and ADA accessible.
