There are a least 2 coin operated laundries on each ship. Also they usually have one day at sea where you can pay to have a bag of laundry done...

I hope people will be polite when it comes to using the laundry. Don't use them as you would at a laundromat that has 20 machines. I went in to use the iron once to get out a wrinkle that wouldn't come out with the steamer and there was a woman in there with I swear her whole family's weeks worth of clothes to iron. She was polite to let me take out just the wrinkle when I asked her if I could use the iron for just a moment.
Try not to let yourself get in that position. Who wants to spend that much time ironing on a cruise. Why take that much stuff that NEEDS ironing on a cruise. A cruise is to relax not do things you have to do at home.

Just make sure that you go on at least 10 cruises with Carnival and let them do your laundry for you. Gotta love it.

So are you saying that after you do 10 cruises with Carnival they do your laundry for free?

You might lose the clothes that way. How much is dry cleaning on board?

That's the way we did laundry on troop ships on the way to Vietnam! We'd tie the clothes to a line (rope) and let 'em drag behind the ship for a while. Salt in the water made great starch!

Then can you suggest a material for suits/jackets and pants? I tend to like to dress a little bit to go to shows and clubbing.

When it comes to a good suit or jacket or pants, if they are a have to dry clean fabric, then they won't get that dirty. Buy a travel steamer or just have them pressed on the ship if they get wrinkled. I usually steam my husband's tux or good pants and it usually works. Only once did I have to go to the laundry room and use a towel over the tux pants for a stubborn wrinkle. Just took a minute. Make sure you know what you're doing if you decide to press good clothes with an iron. Not much worry with a steamer.
What do you want to know about fabrics for dress wear? Good cotton for good casual or a nice summer weight wool for nice wear pants. A good men's store would be your best bet to work up some nice outfits if you tell them what you're doing.

I though linen but that tends to wrinkle alot, but basically I have a preference to dress up with evening events(dancing, shows, etc.).......go out in style so to speak.
