Default Anybody just come back from two days in The Caymans?

I was wondering if anybody has just come back from the changed port stop due to the flu & stayed in The Caymans for two days instead of one day there & one in Cozumel which is cancelled. We were wondering how it was to spend two days in The Caymans? Were you able to tender off the ship at night & was there anything worthwhile at night to see or do or did you simply stay on the ship? Are the shores by the tender port dock the only place to shop or are we missing alot by shopping at the small shops by the dock?

just got back and we stayed in grand cayman for two days, due to immigration laws the ship doesnt actually stay in port overnight and you are not allowed to stay on the island, you must be back on he ship at a certain time, ours was five oclock. but it was plenty of time to do everything we wanted
day 1 we did our parasailing trip that we booked from carnival, it was soo fun. a boat picked us up at the port and took us to our parasailing boat. then when we were done the boat dropped us off at 7 mile beach, we had a few drinks and then took a taxi back to the port area where we booked the stingray and snorkeling tour through moby dick tours, it was only $40 per person which was a much better deal than the ship. the boat had water and lemonade and a bathroom on board and music, we stopped at the reef and snorkeled then went to stingray city and it was amazing! we did all the wet stuff in day 1 and day 2 we were only there till 2pm so we did our shopping. went to blue iguana gift shop, harley davidson senior frogs, margaritaville and a cute little restraunt called paradise, they had awesome conch fritters. we also took an island tour, it was only $15 per person, took us to 7 mile beach, hell, turtle farm, dolphin discovery and the tortuga rum cake factory. it was in an air conditioned bus which was cool..our guide was omar and he was very very knowledgeable about the town and gave alot of great insight to grand cayman. i would def consider booking your tours on the island as they are much cheaper. except the parasailing which was only $9 cheaper, the people in port beat carnival by at least half off on most tours...it was a blast though, no disappointment at all

That actually sounds like an OK deal. I've always enjoyed the stops in Grand Cayman, although at times because of tendering, it could be a missed stop, but always a lovely place to visit.

We just got back from 1 day in the Caymans (Valor May 3rd Sailing). It's one of our Favorite Cruise stops if you are doing the Western Caribbean. the water is always perfect and the Beaches are nice White Sand along 7-Mile Beach (actually 5.6 mile Beach ). The StingRays are a Great experience if you havn't done it before. A nice 40 minute Boat ride out and back with an hour or so to play with the StingRays and snorkle (near-by).

Remain Blessed, Sparx
