Default Weight Restrictions on Deck Chairs?

Without revealing how much I weigh.. I will surfice to say I'm rather large.. and I would love to be able to enjoy some sun up on the decks.. but I worry what the weight restrictions of the deck chairs are? Can anyone give me a ballpark figure? Do you know someone of a certain weight, who was ok in the chair without it breaking under them?

Which Ship?.. Some have different newer lounge chairs. The old white plastic ones #250 at least... Why would you not want to put your weight on here?

The old lounge chairs (Glory) could take maybe 300lb max...

The newer ones (had them on the Freedom)can take at least 350lbs....

Depends on which ship you are sailing, which chairs they will have.

The reason she doesn't reveal her weight is women consider that improper to talk about. On this subject though, I can only say this. If the chair breaks under someone, they weigh too much.

Sounds funny, but true. You never can tell which ones might already have "stress fractures" that could give way under a lot less than the specified maximum. I am less that 200, but I still come down slowly and throw my towel over it to protect against sharp edges.

I personally am around 250 lb and losing. I battle with my weight so I know how it is. I personally have every intention of being in great shape before early September(when I have to go to my sister's wedding).

Dude I can totally tell you are a man. Women don't reveal thier weight even the skinny ones.

I don't want to reveal mine, my sisters, or my mom's weight. But the chairs on the Carnival Freedom are pretty stable. Plus they have these plastic chairs right around the pool those are excellent for heavier cruisers. Those chairs are soild plastic without the bendable aluminum (SP?). If you see the blue chairs in this picture those are the plastic chairs I'm talking about. These chairs are also set around the pool

These are the tables and chairs out on Lido deck of the Freedom.

I wonder just how many people it would take if you could stack them on the deck to see when the ship would actually sink low enough to start taking on water. Granted there wouldnt be enough room for them but its an interesting thought if you like the science of weight and density.

Briguy, I think I will start calling you Titanic. You seem to like the idea of going down with the ship.

I found the chaises on the Conquest to be the worst ever....there seemed to be no way to sit comfortably to read..it was almost as if they didn't have enough indents, to place the back at comfortable positions....many were complaining to each other, including me
