I wish we had Steinmart here. Someone else talked about that store so I checked out the website they have nice dresses at good prices. But there aren't any in California.
katlady, not sure where in California you live but there are 19 Stein Marts. I have one very close by but have never bought anything from there. Just not my style I guess. Here is a list of the Calif locations.

You will see everything on formal night. Nobody really pays attention, too busy eating. The folks sitting next to us had teens whose idea of formal night meant removing their ball caps. It didn't affect the atmosphere a bit, the food was great.
