Default Formal Night Tux Options

I am trying to decide between 3 tuxedo options, if I go that route. I can do a black tux(the standard), an ivory dinner jacket and black pants, or a white tux(broken up with another color of course, in a classy way). This is for a Caribbean cruise so please share your opinions.

Since you are an extrovert, I would say, the ivory dinner jacket, to stand out from the crowd...leave the white one home......the classic black is a no fail choice, so...that's my 2 cents

Whatever gave my personality away? Though flamboyant is more like it.

Wearing any type of tux will make you stand out. So few people wear them it seems anymore. My last cruise I didnt see a single guy in one. If you are so inclined go for it. You will look sharp and you will catch the ladies eyes for sure.

I am not one to look any less than elegant and sophisticated, often in an understated way.

Then don't rent a tux on board! I can spot a rental at 50 paces. Usually the fit is poor and the fabric is bargain basement.

That is what I was leaning towards, just buying instead of renting. I may look for one on eBay or something and have it altered to fit like a glove.

You will be just fine regardless of what you chose. I see all kinds on-board Carnival. They seem to be very tolerant.
Me, I wear a black suit and bow-tie and sometimes wish they weren't SO tolerant.
