Default My Time Dining Questions

We will be sailing on the Brilliance July 9 out of Barcelona and are currently scheduled for the late seating (which I believe in the Med. is 915). We are a group of 12 and are looking at possibly doing MTD to let us eat a bit earlier. My wife and I along with a few others are not keen on eating so late. We do not want to be finishing dinner at 1130 when we go to bed 30 mins or so after that. How do we go about reserving a time for MTD? Do we do this before our trip or once we get there? Also is there a way to get the same waiters each day like you have on your regular seating? Thanks for your assistance.

past carnival trips for us (pride, legend, miracle) were seated dining times early and late. This year they are offering my time dining; however, this is how my TA explained: set seating times are specific table each night and would assume all in your party would be given same table - my time is go in whenever you want no assigned table they will put you wherever there is room. If you have a TA check with them or check with Carnival just to be sure

I've sailed with Carnival three times and I've always requested early seating only to find that we were assigned to a late seating. All three times I've made a beeline to the MTD and politely have requested to have our seating time changed to early. It's worked all three times.

According to my docs, my early seating request is confirmed. I'm hoping that this means that I do have early seating.

littlewake2......I just got back from Legend last month and totally enjoyed Your Time Dining that was offered. With Legend for YTD was between the hours of 5:45 pm and 9:30 pm.

A little background on me....I'm widowed and being solo and using YTD was great. The lovely hostesses always seated me at a table for 6 by a window and in the same general area every evening. I enjoyed the same waitstaff also. No reservations, just walked in, usually between 7 pm to 7:45 pm. It's easier with someone going solo.

Since there are twelve of you, I suggest you let your TA know you want YTD and it will be confirmed on your Sail & Sign Card. After boarding your ship, before sailaway, check with the Maitre D' on duty, explain your situation with your group of 12 people and I'm sure he can set a time and table for all of you. You might not get a table for 12, but could get two tables for 6 next to each other. BTW food in dining room is excellent with Carnival.

Enjoy your cruise.

We did the YourTime Dining in May on the Elation. We loved it! You can arrive any time between 5:45 and 9:15 and depending on the number in your party they will ask if you want your own table or want to share a table. If you are willing to wait for the correct table I'm sure they will accommodate you in getting the same wait staff. On the ship we were on it looked like there were three teams of wait staff's working in the YourTime section, so even without requesting the same servers we ended up with the same on a couple of nights. All were wonderful.

You might get better advise about Brilliance of the Sea on the Royal Caribbean forum, as it is their ship I'm sure you will have a great cruise with a group of friends like that.

Bon Voyage

Hi Little wake,
I have late seating for my cruise in May 2, 2010 it's at 8:15 not 9:15. I don't know if the hour makes a difference to you. But you may want to double check the late dining time, before you change.

Does anyone know if the Sensation has YTD? My dinner time is confirmed for 6:00 p.m., but my mom's reservation is waitlisted for 6:00 p.m

If they do have YTD on the Sensation then I think I would go with that instead of having a fixed dining time.
