Canadians are allowed to have cuban cigars, however they are not allowed to bring them through customs ,through, into or across the US. so what is the point of buying them

Yep, just buy what you can enjoy while on the cruise. If caught trying to bring them back into the U.S. they'll confiscate them, and perhaps fine you for the infraction. Certainly not worth the hassle!

Plus I might add, they are very expensive. Most I saw were in the range of $45 to $70 CND each.

Cuban Cigars are a novelty since US Citizens cannot buy them in the US. I am a cigar smoker, and Cuban cigars are not the best, far from it. Honduran cigars are far better, however, I still buy Cuban cigars when on a cruise, and enjoy them when I get home, or on the ship.

True, they are expensive, but thats just because of the embargo. If they were legal in the US they would be much cheaper. Also, be very careful where you buy a Cuban Cigar, most are fake, so only buy from a top name cigar shop when looking. The Grand Cayman is a great place to buy, as well as Tortola.

Happy Smoking.

Hubby is a cigar smoker and loves the ones from Dominica. Just FYI to any other smokin' dudes out there.

I forgot to ask where to get them in Honduras. The best ones he ever got there were from a street vendor, much to our surprise, but we are going back later this year and would like to know of any good cigar shops on Roatan.
Thanks!

I think the cache of Cuban cigars is the fact thst for U.S. citizens can't readily get them. From everything I have heard, and, read over the years, the Domincan Republic has a superior cigar as well......and it's legal

As the old saying goes, smoke em if ya gottem Enjoy them onboard, with not a care in the world
