I just wonder if Carnival will make over the ships. So that we can't go out on the decks and set in the open. That will be sad if they do because that is one of my favorite thing to do sit out on the deck in a nice quiet spot.
Do other ships have so many people go over board? I don' t seam to hear about them if they do.
Ijust have a feeling they will have a feeling they will have to do some thing for these adults that can not stay off the rails. I have only been on 2 cruises so far but not had the need to get on the rail.

Not much anyone can do when people have no common sense or want to do themselves in. If it happens on a ship, it's a major, major disaster but we seem to just take in stride the common everyday deaths on land.
Exp. --- in today's paper here in my home town there were the following;
2 dead in fiery head on crash----19 yr. old student dead at 2:15 a.m. in single car crash--- 2 shot dead-- a man and wife dead --their son shot and in hospital---
a 4 year old drowned in an above ground pool at neighbors-- another 4 year old drowned in a campground pool--- a 2 year old died from drinking drain cleaner and parents charged with murder and making meth.
That's just in the last day or so!
Now if one of those deaths had occurred on a cruise ship it would have been gangbusters for the media with howls and cries for congressional hearings out the wazoo !!
More power to 'em if they want to OB.

Either you are wrong or USA today is wrong. Well USA today makes no sense. They said this:

How could Larry Miller be plucked out of the water after falling out a Carnival ship when the P&O cruise passenger was the only one found and rescued. Wasn't Larry found and rescued or is he still hanging on a buoy in Tampa.

This is becoming so commonplace that it soon wont be news anymore. We will all be hardened to it. Cruise ships will never redesign their ship to prevent OB's. Its such a small small % of occurences. I dont even read the stories about these events any longer.

at least these idiots aren't taking anyone else to their deaths... you can't say the same for the drunk-drugged-sleep deprived morons that drive when they are not fit.

Carnival has half of the cruise market, so they should have half the problems of whatever kind. What I expect eventually is a background check for those booking balcony cabins. Or maybe you will need a note from a psychiatrist

I guess the economy is really getting to some people. Why not jump off a Carnival ship it cost less than if they were on a RC or Princess etc ship

There is a bridge with a balcony right by my home you can jump from. Its cheap, easy and the view is just as good as from a ship. The Golden Gate Bridge has seen over 1000 suicides over the years. Plenty of room for more if people are so inclined.
