Default locations of cabins

Have a cabin near the front on the Destiny, on the Empress deck. Is this a good location? Didnt know if the front will be worse for getting sea sick?

Lower decks and midship tend to be the easiest rides.

Hard to say whether your sailing will be one that you will experience motion sickness.

Best bet for those who never had it or might get it is to take the medicine every day during the sailing just in case.

I love the midship cabins on the Riviera deck. You can hardly feel any movement. We had a cabin on the Upper deck in front of the ship and I could really feel the ship's movement.

My wife has had good success with non-drowsy Dramamine. Not sure about adding booze to it though. Unless you have rough waters you probably won't have any problems. They also sell acu-pressure wrist bands but she didn't have much success with those.

The lovely Mrs. Jones (Vita) relies on Bonine, (Meclazine is the same thing) and she takes it everyday, whether she thinks she'll need it or not. It seems to do an excellent job, and doesn't make her sleepy at all.

On our last cruise we were 3 cabins from the very front on the Empress deck of the Freedom. The motion was hardly any worse there than in any other cabin we had. Every now and then we could hear the front of the ship hitting the waves, but never really felt them. Just enough gentle motion over alll that you could tell you were aboard a moving ship. I wouldn’t hesitate to get the same cabin again.

A lot depends on the weather and the deeper ocean currents. I like a little motion and the cabins toward the front are great for that. But, I also take Bonine, aka meclizine, once a day, because I can get really seasick. I also make sure I take on on tender days, because that can be far worse for me than while on the ship.
If you don't want to take meds every day, just be aware that the first symptom of seasickness can be just a slight dizzy feeling. If I have not taken one, and that happens, I always have one in a purse and I take it asap. They don't make me sleepy and I usually take it early enough in the day that I can still have a drink later on. But, I am a serious lightweight when it comes to alcohol, so others may have had different reactions.

Default cabin location

Thanks for all of the info. I did get the cabin changed towards the middle of the ship 7229 on the Destiny. I will check out all the meds everyone talked about. I wouldn't be drinking that much. Maybe a beer or 2 at night, thats all.
