We're going to San Juan & St. Thomas this September, so give me your thoughts on which port has the best liquor prices? Normally we buy ours at A.H. Riise store in St. Thomas, but wondered if they were the best location. Sometimes we go to a store at the top of the hill by the pier in St Thomas, I believe it's called Al Cohen's Discount Liquors Mall. It was within walking distance, but you had to carry the alcohol with you back to the ship. Ten or twelve bottles can get heavy fast when you're walking!!!
We were only at San Juan once and right off the ship they were handing out sales flyers out with some pretty good prices. But when we came back from our tour, the store was closed. That's the problem when the ship pulls in late in the day. So I really don't know much about their stores.
Check the prices aboard ship before you buy it ashore. Lately, I've found that what I buy is within pennies in the liquor shore on ship, of what I can buy it for ashore.
I've bought it at Al Cohen's as well, but it's been quite some time ago.
