Freeport Excursions?
Best friend and I are thinking to just wing it in Freeport and not do an excursion thru the ship (Conquest). Any ideas on what we should do? Is there a lot of stuff within walking distance? What can we expect?
Sorry for so many questions. |
We did the kayaking and it was great.... :D

Freeport
We went off the ship to the few vendors at pierside and then had a very relaxing day on the ship, sitting out and RELAXING.We even took a nap.then we started home, did not go to town
ENJOY your trip boB |
Ok several things:
1 - Capt. Tony - http://sanddollarcruise.com/ 2 - the area at the pier is expanding every day. Talked to one taxi (private) that I have used in the past and he said they the taxi union was not very happy about it but within a year there will be 60-100 shops, more than one bar, several food vendors, etc. In May there was around 25 vendors and one main bar. No liquor store yet but to come supposedly. Their is a waterfront restaurant a short walk towards the beach. You can see it from the ship. They feed the sharks leftovers so don't plan on swimming! 3 - DO NOT RENT A SCOOTER!! 4 - There is a car rental place at the pier and you return the car same place. Will give good directions for many out of the way places... REMEMBER THEY DRIVE ON THE LEFT. 5 - Our Lucaya is a taxi ride away and has beach/shops/food (subway that is very reasonable)/liquor store/casino/straw market/marina/etc. 6 - I have heard that some of the excursion that are water based will start leaving from the pier and returning. Hope this helps. Another note Westin/Sheraton has been sold and is now Radisson. They have rates as low as $139 right now. http://www.radisson.com/hotels/bsgrand |
