Cozumel has "something for everyone" where beaches are concerned.
If you want an all inclusive (mainly adult...they do allow kids) with a pool...Nachi Cocom is $49.00 a person. This includes all you can drink and one 3 course meal. Snorkeling etc is extra.
If you want ala carte'....Cozumel has several beaches. Some charge an entrance fee....(which we prefer going to the free beach resorts).
Our favorite free beach resort is Paradise Beach. The lounge chairs, umbrellas, tables, CLEAN restrooms, changing room, outdoor shower and even Internet at the Bar are all free.
IF you want to play on the non-motorized water toys...there is a wristband for $10 that gives you the most stuff for the money...but it is optional. Our boys always get it...hubby and I do not. (we are shade people)
Taxi fees to all the beach resorts in Cozumel are $12-15 one way for up to 4 people. If you are a couple....check on your roll call and see if anyone else is headed there....and share a taxi. It will save you some money at least one way.
Grand Cayman (while we have been to the port 1,000 times...we have never been to this beach) is known for its Seven Mile Beach. But do be aware that Grand Cayman is expensive.
Ocho Rios....I would just walk up to The Island Village. There isn't a pretty "beach" ....but there is a Margaritaville and lots of shops....and the vendors do not bother you. It is an easy walk from the port and sidewalks all the way.
COMPLETES THE FLEET
If it is Carnival and it floats....we have sailed it!
Hubby ... DIAMOND (every ship except the Carnivale)
Me ... DIAMOND (every ship starting with the Tropicale)
20 year old son ... DIAMOND (every ship starting with the Tropicale...he is the only DOUBLE Milestone under the age of 21)
24 year old son ... DIAMOND
I'm thinking I'm going to make a reservation tomorrow for MR Sanchos all inclusive on cozumel watersports dot com. Wife and I were just going to wing it, but think we'll hit the beach and get our plenty fill of food and drink. maybe do a little shopping (her anyways) on the way back to the ship
Dittos to Paradise Beach Entrance is free, food is excellent, beach is clear and clean. Lockers are available, massages are available on the beach. NO peasky vendors wanting to sell you anything. All the bouncy toys available if you want them.
We found some people to head to Playa Mia with when we got off the ship. The ship offered a shore excursion to it for $75/person for 5 hours, including a buffet, but we found Alberto in a big white van (sorry, don't remember the company name) where the taxis run. He took a group of us to that beach for $25/person, which included transport both ways, and use of the non motorized beach toys (kayaks, paddleboats, water trampoline, etc.) Our group decided on 2 hours, which was the right amount of time for the kids, but he would have let us stay for as long as we wanted. The pool was small, but nice to have. The ocean wasn't as blue or clean as I would have thought. Many beach chairs were available, as well as lockers. After reading these sites, I wish we would have gone to Mr. Sanchos.
The water in that area can be really clear and blue or not depending in recent weather conditions and even ship traffic. I've been snorkeling in Cozumel when it was like looking through glass and also when it was like perring through mud. Have the very amateurish pic's to prove it!
My favorite place is Cozumel. It is just me and my kids, no man, and I feel safe there doing this too. RENT you a jeep. The cost of the jeep with full coverage for the day is $80 and if you ask- they will give you free passes to the beach to get in (playa Mia).... its down to the right..go that way.... stop in where your free passes to get in are...but keep going down to MR SANTOS beach. I like that one. When you get done there take the jeep, and continue right- it will take you around the entire island. Takes about an hour.... FUN FUN!
