hello all
we are looing for an all inclusive ( drinks and food) beach outing in cozumel
any recoomendations?
ihave seen posts regarding mr sancho's but there was some talk about not using island tours as they ripped off a couple people .. can you book direct with MR Sancho or do u just cab it over and pay there
any recoomendations will certainly be very helpful.... there are 10 of us
Try passion island but book it through the ship. I have heard that if you book it on your own you can get ripped off. We went there because my in- laws recommended it and had a great beach day. Drinks and food included, buffet style. Best Quacamole I ever tasted and a great beach with little shops and places to get massages. Afterwards they stop in the shopping area for those who want to shop or they can take you back to the ship.
There's always someone out there that will try to rip you off. If not booking with Carnival, go to someone that's either recommended or who is trusted and good raport. Me, personaly, decided to do the same as you. We will be in Cozumel this Saturday. I went thru cozumel-watersports dot com after hearing good things from other cruisers. My wife and I paid a $10 dollar deposit payable thru Paypal, and pay the ballance when we arrive there. We decided to go all inclusive (eat and drink and beach) Mr Sanchos for about $45 a person. I've also heard great things about Paradise and also Nachi Cocom.
Two years ago, we went to Playa Mia on our own. Admission was $16/person, I think the chairs were free but umbrellas cost $5 to rent, they took my Sail & Sign card and held it until we left (didn't like that). The beach was crowded and had those awful molded plastic loungers, once you get in, you can't get out. They have a large, open restaurant where you can eat at the buffet (additional charge) or order off the menu (which we did). There is a small fresh water pool with a bar and a shopping area. It was a nice way to spend the afternoon but a little pricey for what you got (in my opinion). The admission fee gave you the right to sit in a lounger, swim in their pool and use their beach, that's it, everything else was extra. Sooooo, if your excursion fee includes food and transportation, it sounds like a better option than doing it on your own.
Nachi Cocom is also very nice. WE booked it with Island Marketing and it was 45.00, all inclusive. Very quiet beach and you can rent jet skis or go parasailing. You just give a deposit and pay the balance when you get there. You have to get a taxi on your own but that was 15.00 total for all 3 of us.
Our group just returned from Cozumel on July 4th. First time to Playa Mia beach deluxe. We loved it so much. Had a ball and can't wait to go there again. Drinks, service, food and beach were great!

wow, that sounds illegal, not to mention that I would never let go of my S&S card Thanks, Ill definitely book the Passion Island excursion instead.
We paid 69 dollars with Carnival it included a nice cool air conditioned bus ride to Play Mia.
An escort took us directly to lounge chairs in the front row with umbella's already over them. We had one very nice waiter who stayed with us the entire day serving us unlimited drinks. They put as much liquor it them as you desired.
The buffet was good I enjoyed the chips, salsa, salad & pulled chicken. We had the use of rafts, kyaks. little sailboats, paddle boats and other water toys. at no additonal charge. We thought the beach was nice. The shopping area was great also for what we wanted to bring home.
We thought for the price we were charged it was well worth it for the amount all five of us drank and ate
As far as the chairs I need bilateral knee replacements and yes they were hard to get up from but I managed fine. We would do this excurison again in a heart beat.
I just came off a Carnival Inspiration cruise to the Western Carribean and took the same excursion Ro did to Cozumel, it was fantastic. Lounge chairs at the tip of the water, drinks while floating on a raft and plenty of them Also, the food was delicious and I am a picky eater. You have to try the mexican fish dish...(my lips are smacking for it). Seriously, pay the $69, hop in the air conditioned bus and have a great time. The only thing you better wear is a pair of swim shoes because there were quite a few rocks on the bottom of the ocean as we ventured out into the water. That was the only drawback to Play Mia beach, but I would go there again in a heartbeat. Have a great time
Your right Silly the only drawback was you should wear swimmie shoes to Playa Mia.
I was the only one in my group that did not wear a pair. I need bilateral knee replacements & should have followed suit like the rest of my friends and wear a pair.
Coming in I thought I was ok just floating up closer to shore and then getting up from the raft but I fell down a few times due to the rocks. I just couldn't catch my balance on them but I am not the norm due to the knees. The security guy came running to assist me though. Laughing when he helped me up I just came saying to him boy did I have fun out there in the water on that raft. It was worth the embarrassment of falling down.
Our family also did the Playa Mia Beach Break Deluxe booked through Carnival. We enjoyed it, and plan to do it again this Nov. when we go again. Free drinks, free food. They also had little umbrella tables with regular chairs and we grabbed one of those so hubby and I could sit in the shade and watch the rest of our party play. I don't know if it has been mentioned, but they also had massage cabanas.
I agree that you will need swim shoes. We have purchased them for everyone in our group for this next trip!
If anyone is interested, I have included a link to my photo gallery and I just added one more picture that has a part of the umbrella table and chairs showing on it. In this photo gallery, all of the beach pictures were taken at Playa Mia, they just are not all in order!
We were at Cozumel in August 2008. We went the cheap route and took a $5 cab ride from the port to Mr Sanchez beach. It was no frills route, no food, no drink, no umbrella. There were plenty of chairs around since it was bounded by a couple of beach clubs. My little kids were just interested in playing in the sand and taking a dip periodically so that suited us just fine for a couple of hours on the beach then back to the ship for late lunch and nap.
