The Dream will be a great ship but the ports of call are the most common in the Carribean so to me its a bit of a downer. Been there, done that sort of thing.
2008-Valor and Glory
2009-Spirit and Splendor
2010-Freedom of the Seas and Mariner of the Seas
2012-Allure of the Seas and Navigator of the Seas
It is a 9 day that actually goes to two ports we have not been to before (an added plus).
COMPLETES THE FLEET
If it is Carnival and it floats....we have sailed it!
Hubby ... DIAMOND (every ship except the Carnivale)
Me ... DIAMOND (every ship starting with the Tropicale)
20 year old son ... DIAMOND (every ship starting with the Tropicale...he is the only DOUBLE Milestone under the age of 21)
24 year old son ... DIAMOND
I looked into "Dream", but it's still a bit pricey for me. I'll just have to get along with all the "older" ships until the newness wears off, and the price comes down. I am, however, anxious to experience all the new stuff "Dream" has to offer, even though as a rule, I prefer slightly smaller ships.
Sailing in April 2010 on Carnival's Dream, it looks AWESOME!!
ScurvyDog...we also loved Tortola, best snorkeling ever. We also loved Antigua. These ports don't have the shopping areas that St. Thomas and St. Maarten have and I am not a shopper so loved these two ports. Prickly Pear Island in Antigua was great.
I'm hoping that whoever sails on the Dream in the coming months, takes a few minutes to write a review.
We will be on the April 10th sailing, I'm already making up a "to do" list. I'm looking forward to reading cruiser's feedback that are sailing prior to next year. The Dream has a ton of new features that I'm anxious to see and experience. I agree with Ken, it is a little pricey but I haven't cruised in awhile due to family commitments and have been saving up for this special ship and anxiously waiting for its launch.
I'm sure we'll be communicating again prior to our cruises in April but I hope you have a GREAT time!!
We are sailing on Jan 9 2010 it should be a good time. We are sailing with a few friends of ours. I've been talking on another chat sight with other people sailing on the same date and we set up a little Bonvoyage party.
Is any one sailing on the Dream soon she is due to set sail next month?
I'm sailing with my two cousins on the Dream, sailing from Rome
on Oct. 3, 2009 for 12 days. We'll be in several ports in Italy as
well as Monaco, Barcelona and Dubrovnik. Very exciting and
looking forward to the trip.
Is anyone else going on the same voyage ?
Hey, my fiance and are sailing on April 10, 2010. It's our honeymoon! I've only been on one other cruise so I cant wait and this seems like such a great ship! I cant wait to see picture (not computer generated ones).
