The swim up bar is definitely a great idea.

Kind of amazing that they don't have that already.

Swim up bar is a good one! Didn't think of that one.

Didn't the Destiny originally feature a swim up bar? As a recall it didn't work so the idea was dropped in subsequent ships.

Really I'm surprised the swim up bar didn't work. Did the Destiny have an adult only area with a swim up bar. Because that is how I picture it working as a feature of the adult only pool. However, your sail and sign card might get wet.

I am glad to hear that other people are disturbed by the singer waiters. One night would be more than enough. On my last cruise we left before desert on some nights to avoid the noise. How do we get this info to Carnival?

I just thought of another. We love the balcony rooms and book them almost every time we cruise. Our favorite are the extended balconies on the Spirit class ships. So, we would like to see all balconies be at least the size of the extended balconies so that you can stretch out a little.

I've heard a lot about the wrap around balconies, so we plan to book one of those rooms in the future.

You can't beat sitting outside your room and enjoying the ocean. So enjoyable and peaceful.

Come to think of it I believe Thoth is right. I sailed the Destiny twice, once when it was new and again after it was 2-3 years old and I believe there was a swim up bar at the aft pool.
Maybe it was just ahead of it's time--or, maybe the drunks were too drunk to swim up and order !!

Two things I would love to see on Carnival.
1. The Promenade without photographers.
2. PEPSI

"along with two hot tubs, Destiny has a swim-up bars at two of its main pools; Triumph and Victory eliminated the swim-up bars in exchange for more deck space, larger pools, and the addition of a wading area of a few inches deep surrounding the pools"= Frommer's Cruises & Ports of Call 2007 .
I was on the Destiny in 2008 and will sail on the Triumph next month, so I'll have to compare the differences.
Come to think of it, I don't recall seeing anyone swimming up to that aft pool. There was a bar though and looking at the ship's layout in the brochure, that bar has been moved portside on the Triumph and Victory.

I can understand the space issues on a ship. The pool needs to be a certain size so that would explain why there is no swim up bar. Especially if it's not being used. To bad that would have been a nice feature.
