I get a little map of the ship. Because I always get lost. then to the Lido and call home to rub it in. If I'm with a friend who is a soda drinker get the soda card/stamp. Go get my sign and sail punched and a cord for the casino. Drop off bags and explor the cabin. Get my life jacket and find out where the muster station is. We usually hope it is a lounge. Then we go get a good seat and relax. If it is on deck with no seating se go at the last minute because we don't like getting stuck in the back. I almost passed out one time due to the heat with the life jacket on.. We also do this because I can't do stairs and they close the elevators for the drill. I think that is what Ferrangi was thinking about. We're friends and I was with her on her first cruise. A nother friend told me about this and it does help.

Huffca,
I have posted this before, but I will again. The elevators are not turned off. They just tell you that. If you explain to whoever is directing passengers that you can't do the stairs, they will let you use the elevator.
Cheers!
Marty

Hi Marty, Yes you are right. They are not turned off. They are however closed to passengers. I'm sure if I told them I had special needs they would have let me use it. I don't like doing that though. I myself just prefer to find the muster station and if it is a lounge sit and talk with my friends then put on my life jacket when needed. I have a bit of a mobility issue so it its on deck I find a place to sit and go out near the last. On my trip on the Glory I almost passed out. We were on the deck and were among the first to get there. That is why I do what I do. Have a great Labor Day weekend. Carol :-)

I always look for my buddy, Mr. Jack Daniels, in the Atrium Bar. We always have a toast to another fun and relaxing cruise.

If we can't get into our room to drop off the carry on's then we eat and then tour the ship and take photos while there aren't so many people around......we save the drinking for the sail away party.
