Do the PCs in the internet cafe have exposed USB ports?
What I am thinking is that I can buy a couple of cheap thumb drives and use them to offload my camera's memory card. That way I don't have to haul a laptop and I don't have to spend $s uploading photos to a website.

As others said, no, you don't have access to the USB ports. I was told it is a security precaution since someone could have a virus on their flash drive - and that is a valid reason because flash drives often are infected.

I always bring my laptop to download pics and to also keep a journal of what I do each day. I then upload to shutterfly.com and print my pics and journal into a photo book. forget prints!!!
Due to the number of pictures we take, we have carrie with us several, ok 4, 4G memory cards for our cameras. Then at night, while unwinding, we go through and delete those pics we can tell are no good. When we get home, we load them up on the PC or laptop and go through them again. After that, they are downloaded to a memory card and filed for future use.
