On board credit IF you book while onboard??
I read somewhere that you can earn an onboard credit IF you book your next cruise while on your present cruise (up to $200)....
I think that included the Early Saver bookings where you get the best fare...

On some Carnival ships (I think 5) you can buy Future cruise credits.

You give Carnival $100 and when you book a cruise (could be on the current cruise), Carnival will credit that $100 back to the balance due (doesn't count for the initial deposit), and you will get an On board credit of up to $200, depending on length of cruise you book.

$50 OBC for 3-5 day cruises
$100 for 7-8 days
$200 for 12 days of more

The credit is per cabin and singles only get half (Booooo!).

You have 5 years to use the certificate and isn't supposed to be used on cruises already booked.

What Zydecocruiser said is correct. I just got back from a 7 day cruise on Conquest and there were plenty of advertisement sent to your room about such promotions.

The promotions also pointed out prices and cabin category openings on upcoming holiday cruises like Thanksgiving, Xmas, New Years, and Spring Break. I was very interested in the Thanksgiving week cruise that I could have paid less for than my mid August cruise. Unfortunately, my work schedule didn't allow me to commit to it...but it was extremely tempting.

A very good deal! :)

I purchased a couple a few months back, and if they are offered on Carnival Dream, I'm thinking another 5-10. I think it is a great deal for frequent cruisers, given current interest rates on cash and such. And non-taxable - at least for now.

I think Carnival is still trying to figure out if they generate more repeat business, more income than in payout, and I think I'm going to make hay!

We did this on the Freedom last year and used the certificate for our cruise in September. Carnival had a hard time combining the Earlier Saver price guarantee with the On-Board credit from the certificate but after a few phone calls we reached someone who understood and Carnival does have a process in place, just takes talking to the righ people.

Pretty nice though. $100 discount of the top.
