Have sailed 3 lines - RCCL, Carnival and NCL. RCCl was my first cruise and did one with them for my second; then did a huge family cruise on Carnival and have stayed with them except for this past Jan when we did NCL which I won't sail again - I like Carnival and RCCl. After my cruise in Jan 2010, I'll be sailing for the destination so I may be doing lots of different ships/lines. As long as I'm cruising, I'm happy!

Well as you can tell from another thread started by me, I am a HAL cruiser but going first time on Carnival.

I agree with those that say they stick to the same line because they know what to expect. But I gotta say with HAL I've been on three different classes of ships and they all look quite similar. Casinos may be larger, there is an extra bar or so and the showrooms are larger, but everything is the same. So what I started losing was the fun of exploring and getting lost lost on the way to lunch or dinner or the showroom because the designs are identical. Yes the service is superb, the food is pretty darn good,,,,,but I want to be on a ship where I can spend the first day being lost,,,,so breaking with my tradition I will on on CCL for the first time (not to mention the price and the fact I am just driving to and form the port, a 30 minute drive) and if this works out, RCCL,,,here I come (or CCL for a longer cruise).

It's all about the all mighty dollar. If you can not afford to go on the new mega ships and you just want a basic economic cruise than I say CCL is the way to go. Although there are people out there who want to enjoy all the cruising has to offer and can afford it ( bang for the buck ) get ready for a big surprise. Freedom, Oasis, Allure. Navigation, ect. is not only the way to go but is the way of the future. I can understand if RCCL was the line people chose to stick with because they're inovative. From Majesty to Adventure to Oasis and so on. CCL ships are bigger but still the same, diffilcult to get around, same old slide, same blinding decor and I almost forgot the ugly whale tail up top. If you can afford it open your mind and try somthing new.

1) Price
2) price
3) price
4) price
For one cruise the going rate was Carnival =$500, NCL=$800, HAL=$1000
Guess which I selected !
Another was Carnival=$700, RCL=$1300, Princess=$1400
easy decision...no brainer !

Simple, I want to continue to reward the company for putting out a great product at a great price. Excellent food (better than RCCL), bigger rooms, wide variety of itenaries and destinations, cheaper by a lot than anything else out there ... why exactly would I WANT to cruise with anyone else?
