Chances are then that all of the Carnival Corporation lines may soon institute the same policy. Unfortunately this is the sad reality of the economic times.
Perhaps, but I rather doubt it, but it could happen. Carnival Cruise Line (not corp.) has changed their deposit policies by rewarding early bookers with better rates and different cancellation policies.
I was really thankful for this group cruise because it is far enough off, it gives us time to save for it, and the $200 deposit (per cabin, not per person) doesn't put us in a pinch trying to come up with a big lump all at once.
Apparently travel agents hate the early saver fares on Carnival due to too much extra work for too little money. Go figure my colleagues would be money hungry.

Hi....just popping in to say HI to Nancy and please say HI to your Mom for me. We had a BLAST on the Blogger's Cruise in February.

COMPLETES THE FLEET
If it is Carnival and it floats....we have sailed it!
Hubby ... DIAMOND (every ship except the Carnivale)
Me ... DIAMOND (every ship starting with the Tropicale)
20 year old son ... DIAMOND (every ship starting with the Tropicale...he is the only DOUBLE Milestone under the age of 21)
24 year old son ... DIAMOND
My wife and I are definitely interested in this cruise but we may have a few questions along the way. We have never sailed on Princess so we went immediately to their website to check out the Sapphire Princess. I may be missing something but when we are looking at the Oceanview Double with Balcony we don't see any closets. That goes for both the Stateroom Diagram and the Virtual View. What are we missing?

I understand how that can be a bit confusing. But there are definitely closets in each cabin. They are actually quite spacious closets. They are located in a little hallway, parallel to the doorway, just a few steps after you enter the cabin. There are no closet doors; the space is open, which is a bit odd, but works quite well, and actually makes the space easier to use.
It's been awhile, but if I recall that little hallway where the "closet" is located leads to the bathroom.
I know on some ships with regular closets, you can't open the closet door and the bathroom door, which is normally on the other site of the entryway, at the same time.
I can tell you the Sapphire is a gorgeous ship. She and her twin Island are my favorite Princess ships.
Certainly post here to let us know if you're going to join in.
Thanks Kuki. We finally figured it out from the diagram. It actually looks like a good idea.

Sounds intersting, but we could never do 14 nts .... (too much time away from the kiddies, and if I tried to bring them ... Kuki would get them confiscated with the alcohol
Do you always do 14 nts? Is it always from LA?
Do you do all group activities or to each his own, and just meet for dinner?

No, we do all sorts of CruiseMates group cruises. We had a seven day last October on NCL Epic, and we have RCI Allure of the Seas later this year.
And we'll be likely adding a couple more shortly. They are always great fun groups. Just click the link in my signature, and you can view the CM group cruiise line up.
Cool, we can't seemt o talk our friends into cruising, and it would be nice to do a group cruise, even if we didnt' know anybody!
