Default Ticket to Ride

Will be on the Freedom Nov 1. Wondering if the tribute show to the Beatles is still being played onboard. Seen it in Dec 2007 and would love to see it again. It was such a great show.

It wasn't on our 6 day Freedom last December.

Ticket to Ride is one of the best shows, if it is still on any ship.

Thanks Zydeco, yes it was a Great show. I remember the band playing the last 3 songs from Abbey Road, it sounded like the Beatles to me!!! All I can do is hope the show is still there, doesn't hurt to wish.

Never seen Paul in concert, but got to see Ringo and the All Starr Band last year at the Beau Rivage in Biloxi last year. He put on quite a show, and the others did also. Didn't know it beforehand, but Edgar Winter was in the group. Heard Frankenstein live, all I can say is WOW!

After the last Super Bowl in New Orleans when Paul played at halftime, he went back to his hotel, the Windsor Court. He stopped off in the hotel bar, started playing the piano, and whoever was present was treated to a private concert. Would've loved to have been there.

Zydeco! You are a Bad Boy! You know you are not supposed to take pics of the shows!

They are great ones though. I have seen Ticket to Ride a couple of times and it is really one of the best on Carnival. I just wish Carnival would change the shows a little more often on their ships.

I have been on 11 cruises and have yet to see Ticket to Ride. What I have seen like 4 times or more is Vroom. I am sick of it. Mix it up for gods sake.

I imagine the entertainment staff gets bored with performing the same show cruise after cruise, but at least they don't perform it every night like on Broadway (+ matinees).

I often don't make it to shows, so for me, it is good they stick around. I don't think I would ever get tired of Ticket to Ride - well, maybe after a dozen times or so.

I was thinking of suggesting to Carnival that they resurrect the best shows every few years and have a traveling cast that goes from ship to ship performing.

I think there has only been one time when Carnival asked me to stop taking pictures and that had something to do with me blocking the view of one of the people whose job that was.

I don't use a flash, so when you see them popping in the audience, it isn't me. I'm also not one of the ones videotaping.

Carnival says they don't like it, but I think they know that all publicity is good.

I think once was enough for Vroom but in any case, I don't really remember it, so, it must be unmemorable.

Your pics are great. I see pics like this all the time on the net and also videos on you tube. They probably have to make the announcement about the cameras due to copyrights and to discourage people from blocking the view of others during the show.

Excellent photos. I have to agree that "Ticket To Ride" is one of the best shows I've seen aboard any cruise, however, having said that, I just returned from a cruise aboard "Legend", and they are presenting a new show called. "The Big Easy", and it it also EXCELLENT! It will probably be moving to the other ships in the future, but right now "Legend" is the only place to see it. If you sail Legend, don't miss it!

Thank you. I'm usually standing up against a back wall somewhere, so really not blocking anyone.

I had mixed feelings about Big Easy - didn't seem to really represent the city - we both wondered if whoever wrote/choreographed the show had ever been to New Orleans?

Other than that, it was very good.

It was on the Inaugural Splendor cruises in July, 2008 so has been around for a while and was on Freedom last December.

We saw both The Big Easy and the Ticket to Ride shows on the Freedom I enjoyed both very much. I had never been to New Orleans. So I wasn't looking at it as being represntative of the city. I was just looking to be entertaining and I was.

However, I could see why your would be a little annoyed. When you know the city and the great music that comes from there you want that represented in the show.

Ticket to Ride was still on the Freedom in April when I went. I must say, I enjoyed it, but did not love it as much as Far From Over, Vroom, and Century Cafe. The two shows ont he Freedom are great, but the Beatles were slightly before my time, but I do enjoy a number of their songs and agree they were groundbreaking, not-to-be-ever-forgotten band.

The Beatles (and Elvis) might be before your time, but their music is
"ageless."

Hi Misguidedangel,
You must know the band Cowboy Junkies. I've seen them preform several times here in NYC. Great band out of Canada!!
