According to John Heald's blog, passengers do not muster on the outside deck any longer, each passenger will be assigned to a lounge/common area on the ship for the drill and you can leave your life jackets in the stateroom. In the case of a real emergency, a Carnival employee will assist and guide all guests to a lifeboat.
Sounds just like the way it's done on the big Princess ships. (Boy, do I prefer that, to the way Carnival does it!) Much easier, and you can actually hear what's said, and all the instructions in case of a real emergency.
Glad to hear that bit of info. We were on RCCL's Freedom a couple of weeks ago and our Seapass card had our muster station number and we didn't have to lug the life jackets to and fro. Much better.
