We are going on our first cruise on the Valor 2 weeks from today to celebrate our 20th anniversary. My wife has heard rumors of a "topless" area on the ships. Does anyone know anything about this or is it just a rumor?
The "official" topless deck died a couple of years ago. Having said that I have heard (not seen) that on certain ships it is tolerated on the top funnel deck. BUT no one is around to stop pics being taken. On another note many have reported doing so on their balcony.
Carnival used to have topless decks on some ships, but about a year to a year and a half ago they did away with them. The scuttlebutt is that there were too many problems or they just weren't popular enough, depending on who you ask. For whatever reason, this decision came down from Carnival's corporate office. I do know of nudist cruise charters, but question the worth of those.
A previous poster mentioned not to think of models or actresses on this. Probably true, though I wouldn't miss model types(most of the women that actually model have personalities that make Cujo look kind, in my experience), though I certainly would miss the leading lady type actresses. Do quite enjoy the company of the young, hot, artsy types.
I was on the Carnival Fantasy back in 2001 and they had a topless deck. My friend and I wanted a quiet place in the sun to read our books so up we went. We were the only two ppl up there except about every 5 minutes a different old man would come up the stairs, look around and then go back down the other stairs. Guess they were just checking out the view. We laughed about disappointing them.
sO sorry you must cover up up top, at lease some, however if you are in a balcony cabin you can wear whatever you want except somebody may see you in port if other ships are along side.
I go topless all of the time 6"3", 290. 58"chest and 62 inch shoulders, o yes i am MALE have a good cruise
