Default high tea

Can anyone tell me about the 'high tea' on the Conquest? Is this a dress-up kind of thing, by reservation, or just a 'come on down' kind of thing?

It's not really high tea but tea time. Its come as you are. No dress up. Its usually in a quiet room and you get your tea served with lovely little sandwiches and/or desserts. I enjoy it.

Tea time on the Glory was served in the piano bar, it was great. You don't have to dress up and it is a quiet retreat for a short period of time. The tables were all set with dinnerware and silver and a host walked around with a wooden box of assorted teas for you to pick from. A hostess wheeled around a cart filled with scones (yummy), huge strawberries served with real whipped cream, cakes, etc. If you haven't carved out some time to enjoy "tea time" on Carnival ships, you're missing out on some really good desserts and delicious tea served in a quiet environment, love it!!!

Oh I love afternoon tea. I really enjoyed it. The experience has been different on the various ships. The Glory was my favorite so far. They usually have a string quartette (excuse spelling). Relaxing and tasty. Not formal or the traditional tea dress. Very civilized.

The only time I have seen true high tea was on a longer (16 day) HAL cruise. But, I do enjoy Carnival's version. I don't need another meal mid afternoon, but tea and goodies suits me fine!

In British tradition, tea time occurs around 4:00PM Greenwich Mean Time. Just a little tidbit of trivia for those interested.

I do wonder if they have tea time on the shorter cruises. I do enjoy a nice cup of tea. Also is it free or a la carte to the cruise itself.

Hi Thank you for that piece of trivia. The last 4 day Carnival cruise I went on had 1 Afternoon or High Tea time. It was held in the Library and was not as fancy as Tea Time on the Glory.

I just like a nice cup of tea on occasion. I have a few British friends so I learned that over the years.

i enjoy it as well~

on my last cruise we were in one of the dining rooms on the upper level and were sat at a big table with lots of other people~ two of which were from England and were not very generous about the tea at all; according to them "this is not the way tea is in england"

we just rolled our eyes and enjoyed ourselves
