I remember seeing photo kiosk around the Glory when we sailed in 2007. Do all of the ships have them, especially the Legend. I really don't want to drag my laptop with me, but I know I can back up all my photos onto it (I am so scared of losing them). I was wondering if the kiosk have the disk making feature and how much it is to make a disk. I've priced photo storage devises and well that's not going to happen. Has anyone used the kiosk and how was it, price, etc. Thanks.

We use to have our film developed on each cruise, but this last time, they said they were discontinuing it. I would guess they were talking about disks too. Maybe someone else can help with more recent.
I wanted a back up system for my storage cards. What I usually do on any vacation is sit down at the end of the day and transfer any pictures I have taken that day to my laptop to a folder dated that day. I keep using the camera card for several days until it is almost full. When I get home I have folders on my laptop for each day we were on vacation with pictures from that day. I thought if the ship had a photo kiosk then at the end of the day I would go have a disk made with the photos from that day, do the same thing the next night and so on. It's just a fear I have of losing my photos that make me back-up, back-up and back-up. They make photo views and storage devices, but they start at over 200.00. It's just not in the budget to get one. So, not knowing about a kiosk I will just take my laptop and feel better about saving my photos.

I vaguely remember seeing a kiosk on Splendor - but I didn't use it so I might not be remembering correctly. I'm with Marty though, the cost of SD cards is getting so cheap it might be more cost effective to use a card a day rather than pay for a CD a day.
Remember you pictures should be date stamped by your camera, so downloading them once and then splitting them up by day should be a pretty easy task.
There was one on the Freedom last month. I don't remember seeing a way to move files to a disk, just to print. It wouldn't work for the photos I wanted to print because it could only read an SD up to 2GB an I was using a 4GB SDHD.
Okay, thanks. I have a CF (compact flash) card for my DSLR, it's a 4 gig so I'm sure it wouldn't work. Looks like I will have to figure something else out. Thanks.
