Default Rigid pool rules?

When I was on the Liberty last month, I had an interesting thing happen by the pool, and it had never happened on any ship I have ever sailed, and that is over 20 now...

Let me preface this by saying, the weather on our cruise was wonderful, very hot, and great by the pool. One day, I needed to pull my chair into the shade. I guess no one realized it at first, but another was pulled into the space I pulled my chair from. I never saw any chaises added to make more seating, then was originally there.

Later in the week when we sat on the other side of the pool, btw,the end of each row of lounges, has a yellow cone. When I tried to move my chair, I was told I couldn't. The deck has markers on it, and each chair is lined up like a little soldier, none could be moved to change towards the sun, or to pull it into the shade...Is this the case on all the newer Carnival ships? I have never seen a pool area so neat, but to me, it was way to rigid.

Trip, with her book & tea!

First time I've heard of that. We have never had a problem moving a chair by the pool.

Nope, never heard of that, I've almost always been able to and do move my chair around, depending on sun/shade, etc.....Must be something new.

Linda, the same thing on the Valor last month too. There were a couple of times that people did shift the chaise and as long as there were no one complaining and they kept the chairs in the lines it wasnot too much of a problem but on the sea days when the area was busy it was a no no.

We moved chairs on Splendor last month, but never tried it around the midship pool. Things were a little snug there. I'm not sure where you could move them to.

All I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by; John Masefield

WOW, is this going to "Frost" the lovely Mrs. Jones (Vita). She ALWAYS turns her lounger into the sun. It's never in the exact spot she wants it, and it MUST be moved one way or the other. We've done lots, and lots of cruises, and she's never had anyone complain, or tell her she couldn't move her lounger. Now, we're booked on "Liberty" for the first week in February, and when I tell her this she's going to go ballistic!

Marine, Pilot, Singer, Tuba Player, Carnival "Diamond"!

I just came off of the Valor on Sunday, and that was the case on this ship also, at least around the pool. I think that if you go up to deck 10, or back by the adult pool area, you will be fine. I must admit, it made navigating the Lido deck MUCH easier.

I can understand that being the rule around the mid ship pool for safety reasons.

You have to be able to have a "walkway flow" ... since it is heavily traveled.

however on the more empty areas on different levels....I doubt that is an issue.

If it is Carnival and it floats....we have sailed it!

Hubby ... DIAMOND (every ship except the Carnivale)
Me ... DIAMOND (every ship starting with the Tropicale)
20 year old son ... DIAMOND (every ship starting with the Tropicale...he is the only DOUBLE Milestone under the age of 21)
24 year old son ... DIAMOND
