We are going on the Splendor on Sunday. I just received my "check-in" time call from Carnival. Our time is 2PM. I have been told that is prime time and crowded. We will already be in Long Beach and can be at the ship much earlier then that. Can you come earlier or will they "turn you away at the gate?" They did note that if you were part of their transfers, you could arrive earlier. Sure... I didn't pay for that because our hotel offers free transportation!!! Any experience is GREATLY appreciated!!
They begin early check-in at 9:30. If you can go then you do all your paper work and are given a new time and a number. You can then explore Long Beach. Check out the Long Beach tips posted by partyzone.

General boarding usually starts around 11:30 a.m. if there is no problem with the previous cruises disembarkation. You can arrive around 11 and be onboard before noon. The one negative is that the cabins are not ready until 1:00 p.m. or 1:30 p.m.. You will need to occupy yourself in the buffet or exploring the ship for an hour or so before you can drop your stuff off in the cabin.
