Splendor hits pier in Puerto vallarta

Last Wednesday upon mooring Splendor hit the pier of Puerto Vallarta.
Not only the pier got damaged but the ship also.
It stayed overnight in Puerto Vallarta because of this and skipped Mazatlan on Thursday.

Thanks for the info--I hadn't heard. Didn't the Splendor hit a pier just a few years ago?

Splendor is rather new, I think it started to sail last summer.
It did have a small collission with radiance o.t. seas a few weeks ago, also in vallarta..

Gosh darn it why do they always dent the ship before I can get on it? The Carnival Freedom had a big dent in the front when I cruised her in 2008.

I never noticed the dent in the Freedom when I was on it in April of this yeat. I did notice the dent in the Liberty in Sept 08 (another ship meets dock accident). The ships are hugfe and the captain does his best do dock!

I was on the Splendor and the dock it took out was the dock we used to board a boat to go to the dolphin swim area..oh my....my sailing on the Splendor was no worries, except for rough seas going down and coming back...

I cruised the Freedom in April of 2008 so maybe they pounded out the dent somehow. But it had this dent in it when I when on my cruise. I have trouble parking my car without hitting anything so I can see how something that big would be hard to parallel park.

Im sure it was the fault of the Harbor Pilot, since he has control of ship untill its tied up.
