Default Victory a good choice?

Thinking about booking on Victory for 2011. Who has sailed her and what did you think?

We sailed the Victory last May. The ship was in good condition and the itinerary is awesome. It is a very tiring itinerary since it's so port intensive. Well worth the money IMO.

I wish it had at least one sea day but if we sail her I would skip Dominica and hang around the boat. She's is in the running for sure. Thanks

Cruised the Victory last year on March Break and doing it again this year, absolutely loved it, also being from Canada we didnt have the problem with that agriculture line thing at the airport, yes the airport is crowded but we had not problem getting to our gate for the 130pm flight.

I am booked to sail on her 2/28-3/7
I am going with a group of friends from New Brunswick - their church is going on a cruise - it is a small church and the group is over 40 strong.

I am in Vermont, so I'll be meeting up with them on the ship. I am excited - I tend to get a little sea sick, so the port intensive itinerary I think will be great for me. This is my fourth cruise.
I will try to do a cruise review upon my return.

This will be my fourth cruise, my second with Carnival. I sailed on the Sensation in 2002.

The itinerary in 2010 is all six days in ports - no sea days. It sails out of Barbados or San Juan. It is very port intensive and goes to the nicer Southern Caribbean islands.

That's my kind of cruise, you can always stay on the ship if you get tired, and have it mostly to yourself.

I would personally skip St Martin or St Thomas (shopping ports) rather than Dominica - but on Dominica I have done the hike to the waterfalls and it is spectacular. Other than that not much to see there, I agree.

St Thomas would be the port to skip since I've been there and it would be the samp old thing. I think this is the one were going with out of San Jaun. Thanks Paul.

You will love this itenirary especially if you don't care for sea days. We've done it 4 times ~ 2x Fascination, Destiny and the Victory. There's always something different to see.

Did this itinerary when the Destiny was in San Juan. Absolutely loved it.
In Dominica there was a ships tour....don't remember exact name but it was river tubing from up in the hills down toward the sea. One of the best we have ever done. Don't skip it!!!

Question

After thinking about it we would skip St Thomas. St Lucia would be another place I would maybe skip or maybe just get off ship for a short time. I spent ten days in St Lucia and seen just about everything there. I said I would never go back there and thought it was only ok. The room I looking at is on Victory on the verandah deck cabin 8433. Is that a larger balcony or would I be better with 8435. I'm not to fimiliar with any other ship outside the fantasy class.

Aerogirl ~ I would take 8433....it's a aft wrap and the balcony is huge. Here's a picture of the back of the Destiny which shows you the balcony on 8433 closer up than the picture I have of the Victory.

Here's the Victory:

This is the balcony on 6461

We had the aft wrap on deck 6 on both ships (starboard side)...the rooms were identical except for the setup in the bathroom. The views are awesome...you can see the back and side.

Question

Thanks Dotte. It looks really nice. That's the one we will go with then. Did you like the room as well? I have only been in cat 12 on the Fantasy class ship and I know we like the room. The grand suites are just to much money for us and this room looked great from what I had seen. Should we be ok with three people in it?

Aerogirl ~ We liked the room. There was a lot of room. We had a couch and there was a rollaway bed underneath the bed. I think cabin 8433 is configured different than 6461. I'm not sure if it has the couch in it. I don't know about 3 people in this cabin, but in 6461 there was enough room for 3 people.

Here are some pictures of cabin 6461:

I would snag 8433 if you can, you won't regret it. Especially if you like to spend time on the balcony.

I heard that the Victory was refurbished in 2007, anyone know what was done? Flat panel tv's? Anything to the rooms?

Default Amazing??

Hi, are you going with the group "Amazing Grace Church?"
We are also a group of over 40 and we are very excited to be going. My son Shawn is one of the planners and so is sister-in-law Barb

Loved the Victory. We went out of Miami to St thomas, St Marteen, San Juan.
It was a very clean ship and loved the balcony. We went out of San Juan on Serenade of the Seas and the itinerary was fantastic. Didn't care to much for St Lucia, the smell of pot as soon as we got off the ship and when we got back on the ship. Beach trip was ok.
