We are looking at cruises next year and I think we have narrowed it down to a few choices. We will be bringing a 10 year old boy and a 13 year old boy. I would like to take them to Atlantis in the Bahamas while the 13 year old would still think it is cool. There are 2 trips going through there in our time frame. One is a 7 day on the Dream that also goes St Thomas and St Maarten. The other is a 7 day on the Glory that also visits St Thomas, San Juan, and Grand Turk. The third trip we are pondering is on the Miracle which goes to Grand Turk, La Romana, Curacao, and Aruba. We have not been to any of these places.
They all look excellent, tough choice...You say you haven't been to any of those islands, right? I'd try out the St. Thomas one and you'd still have some for the future. There should be lots of things you can do with both boys. Yes, they'd love going through Atlantis while in Nassau.
Just looking at ships, ports aside; I am betting the kids will like Dream the most - Glory the second most and miricle third.
Dream has a few great waterslides - which is also what Atlantis is all about.
The itinerary for the Miracle is the most interesting for the adults. Curacao is a very interesting island to see for the first time. Aruba is a little boring, though Grand Turk has plenty of swimming and snorkeling. But the ship (Miracle) has the fewest features for the kids.
St Thomas is great for shopping, as well as snorkeling.
San Juan is a yawner for the kids, I think. The adults might like sightseeing there, but it isn't great.
And even the Dutch side is topless....just FYI....
