Fort Lauderdale Shopping?

Well, starting to research cruise number 3!

Quick question...

Google maps says that "Southport Shopping Center" in Fort Lauderdale (Near Carnival Port) is closed??? Has anyone been to Fort Lauderdale lately to confirm if this place is still open?

Regardless, what's the shopping, restaurants, & bars like in the area of this shopping center, we are looking at hotels in this area.

Thanx!

This is the shopping are on 17th St Causeway area, next door to Hyatt Place. Formerly Amerisuites.... Welcome to Harbor Shops :: We've got it all!

Southport is open, I was there in October, but really a shadow of it's former self, several years back.

In Harbor Shops, there is a Publix, for last minute needs for your cruise, nice dining choices, and many small shops.

Pier 66, Bahia Mar, The Renaissance, we stayed there in Oct, Embassy Suites, & Holiday inn,are all right in this port area too....Bimini Boatyard, [ The Outback right behind Hyatt Place] are right there as well...hope this helped a bit
