Default Elation Cabin Decision

We are going to book the Elation for December. This will be my 2nd cruise (hubby's first) and I wanted to try a balcony this time.

Should we choose V1 (Vernada Deck, on the bow) or U80 (Upper Deck, amidships).

The difference in price is about $400, V1 being the least expensive.

Thanks for your advice!

I'd choose the cabin on the Upper Deck. It's between two passenger decks and the Veranda Deck cabin is under the Gym and over a blank space (who knows what's there or if it's noisy ).

If you're bothered by motion sickness the Upper Deck cabin, amidships, will be much better than a cabin on the bow where you might feel a lot more movement.

Have a wonderful cruise, whichever you choose,

I also agree......Upper deck is definately better. We were in room U80 on the Elation November 2003 and loved it. We had rough water one night and the closet door (its a walk in closet) kept banging open and shutting, so I had to put a couple of life jackets down in the doorway to help keep the door propped open! There was a jacuzzi tub in the bathroom that was really nice too.

Also, whats nice about the suites on the upper deck is that when your on the balcony and are standing at the rail looking straight down you see the water. On the empress deck when you look down you see the deck of the ship. May not be a big deal to some but I don't want to see the deck.

Your welcome! I’m glade you found what you where looking for. A year and a half ago I came to this message board with a question or two regarding the cruise I had booked and found so much more. There are some wonderful and helpful people here. I never thought I would be sticking around but now I find myself on here a few times a day. Hope you stick around after you cruise and enjoy all that this board has to offer.
