cold weather port

I'm thinking of a january 2010 cruise on the Pride out of
Baltimore. How long would it take to hit warm weather, and
what do you do on the ship when its cold outside?
I was just wondering I've never been on a cruise
out of a cold weather port before.

My aunt was on the Pride on 12/13/09. She said that it was freezing until they reached the Bahamas, with very rocky seas. They even had to skip Freeport.

I can honestly say that my family and I were on the Conquest out of Galveston, TX last December '08 and it was very cold and rocky for the first 3 days -- until we hit Cozumel and then it was cool there as well. There was a huge cold front that hit the country that year and the same happened this year.

Hopefully you will have a fantastic time -- just bring some clothes for the cooler weather just in case.

I was on the same 12/13 cruise out of Baltimore.

Port Canaveral was not roasting, but it's hard for me to argue that it was cold. In fact, once we got out of the Chesapeake Bay and into the Gulf Stream, the weather was tolerable, although I did buy a fleece top for night time strolls on deck.

As for what to do on the Pride, the lido deck will likely be closed up, so you won't have to worry about being outside if you don't want to be. There is plenty to do on the ship - they have an active entertainment staff with activities - so you can find things to do.
