I know we are 3 days away and I ask this now. I have spoken to Carnival 3 times as well as my travel agent and verified on Carnival's website regarding identification. I just want to verify with y'all...here is my issue. We got married almost 3.5 years ago, and while I had everything changed right away my passport has been forgotten in that process. I realized this at the end of December. When I called the passport hotline I was told by the agent that it would be 4-5 weeks for a normal passport and between 2-3 for expedited (Very close to cruise time) and the expedited would cost around $350.00. So I called my TA and we changed my portion of the cruise to my maiden name since that is what my passport is still in. TA assured me that at the port all they would need for ID was my passport, I also called Carnival on 3 different occasions and verified with agents as well as the website. I am just concerned that they will need more than one form of photo ID which I do not have since EVERYTHING else is in my married name outside of my birth certificate. Should I bring my BC with me just in case? We are using cash for our sail and sign card, we were told that they still do this, so no need for ID there. Can anyone tell me once again....do they only need to see my passport at the port??? My passport does not expire until August 2012 so it is vaild, the only problem is the maiden name issue...and since it is booked under my maiden name to match passport...I should not have issues right???
All of this is so frusterating, the last time we cruised in April 2007 they still allowed photo ID and Birth Certificate and our Marriage Certificate and we were good to go. I am definatly going to have my passport changed to married name the week we return, thats for sure.
Should I bring my BC and our marriage certificate also just in case???
If your TA and Carnival say that you have acceptable documentation then I'd trust them. If your documentation matches your tickets and reservation I'd imagine you'd be fine. However, if you can bring extra documentation that probably wouldn't hurt. I'm thinking your marriage certificate would be a good idea.
Hopefully they give you no headache and you can board quickly and start to enjoy your cruise!

I think you will be fine as long as your Passport information matches your booking information. HOWEVER, if it was me, I would bring additional documentation verifying exactly who I am, not only for the cruiseline but for backup if you get stuck in a foreign country and need to get back to the USA by other means than the ship. It is too late once you are standing in line checking in at the Port to go home and find your other documents, better safe than sorry.
I got off the Glory on Sunday morning and each port with the exception of Half Moon Cay they asked for PHOTO Id. Your BC and ML will not work because it does not have a photo...Your drivers and ML will work.

Concerning getting back on the ship in a port: usually they want to see a photo ID (driver's license or passport) and your ship card to get back on the ship. If your DL looks like you , you should be fine . I've never heard of anyone being asked to show anything else, but I guess it wouldn't hurt to take copies with you. I wouldn't leave the ship with the originals. If there's any question from the port authorities I'm sure they'd call someone from the ship to confirm you are who you are!
JMHO, and have a wonderful cruise!

We only have one port of call (cozumel) so I will just take my passport with me. My issue was with "checking in" tomorrow afternoon when we arrive at the port. I always have my drivers's license on me, so I will have my passport and my driver's license, I will need my ML and BC at check in to prove that my name was legally changed due to Marriage and that I was born in my maiden name with my BC. (since my DL is in my married name and my PP is still in maiden) I think I should be covered.
